2020 Fantasy Football: Cincinnati Bengals Outlook

*all rankings are as of 8/12/2020 via. Sleeper*

QB: Joe Burrow (Rookie Season - Round 1, 1st Overall Pick - 23 Years Old)

Joe Burrow - Joe Burrow had one of the best, if not the best college season by a quarterback in collegiate football history. Joe Burrow is in an offense very similar to the LSU offense from 2019 (Jefferson to A.J. Green, Clyde E-H to Joe Mixon, Ja'Marr Chase to Tyler Boyd, Thaddeus Moss to C.J. Uzomah, and Terrace Marshall to Tee Higgins). My only concern when it comes to drafting Joe Burrow is not being able to see him play in any preseason games. We know Burrow can sling the football, but that was back in college the NFL is very different from collegiate football. Joe Burrow I feel can for sure be a solid QB2 for your fantasy team but not being able to see him play in the preseason makes me really cautious when it comes to drafting Joe Burrow. The Bengals allowed 48 sacks last season between Andy Dalton and Ryan Finley, and during this offseason the Bengals have added just 2 offensive lineman (1 in the draft 1 in free agency), and the depth chart for the Bengals seems that there is a lack of depth at the offensive line position. Joe Burrow going as the first overall pick automatically puts more weight on his shoulders and there are going to be some high expectations for Burrow even without a preseason. Draft Joe Burrow as your QB2 but do so with caution, remember he is in the NFL and on the Cincinnati Bengals now so do not base his 2019 college stats off of how you think he will do this season.

I believe that Joe Burrow will finish between the QB20-30 range this year, Burrow is currently ranked as the QB18 going into 2020, with his ADP sitting around the 139th overall pick. via. Sleeper

RB: Joe Mixon (4th Season - 24 Years Old)

Joe Mixon - Joe Mixon is going to be a solid RB1 for your fantasy team this season, even with Burrow joining the team now Mixon should still see a lot of work in the Bengals offense. This is Joe Mixon's final year of his rookie contract and he is going to need to have a big season in order for him to receive a big pay day. Mixon has had 2 1,000+ yard rushing seasons in a row now and I do not see him slowing down, the Bengals are going to try and make Joe Burrow as comfortable as possible in his rookie season considering it has not been the ideal offseason. The first half of the season Joe Mixon was rather disappointing, from weeks 1-8 Mixon was the RB31 in PPR and from weeks 9-17 Joe Mixon was the RB6 in PPR scoring formats. Finishing the season with a hot hand like that I see no reason why the Bengals will not lean on Joe Mixon once again this season especially since Joe Burrow has not had any real experience in an NFL game I definitely see Mixon being used early in often to start the Bengals season. Mixon is not going until the early 2nd round in drafts so if you get one of those last picks in a 12 team draft you could secure him as your RB2! Which is absolutely insane in my opinion, if I have one of the final picks in a 12 team draft I am for sure going RB-RB at the turn Joe Mixon and another guy going at the end of the 1st round is absolutely killer in 12 team leagues because RB's go flying off the boards. Get Joe Mixon in your drafts without hesitation he is in a contract year and he is going to be giving it his all to get that big payday at the end of the season.

I believe that Joe Mixon will finish as a TOP 10 RB this year, Mixon is currently ranked as the RB11 going into 2020, with his ADP sitting around the 14th overall pick. via. Sleeper

WR: A.J. Green (10th *9 if you don't count 2019* Season – 32 Years Old)

A.J. Green - A.J. was out all of the 2019 season with an injury and in this seasons training camp A.J. has already suffered a hamstring injury. He was sat out for the remainder of practice but he did walk off of the field at his own free will so that could be a good sign. A.J. Green is just a bigger Justin Jefferson for Joe Burrow and if he can stay healthy I could see Green returning to the A.J. Green that we all know. A.J. Green has that ability to go to that next level it is just a matter now of if he can stay healthy or not. Going in and around the beginning of the 6th round A.J. Green could be the steal of your draft, when healthy A.J. Green is a probowl WR that will see 100+ targets and make 1,000+ yards out of those said targets. A.J. Green could be the WR3 on your team, depending what your draft strategy is in those first 5 rounds. I do not trust Green any higher than my WR3, he has that potential to be a WR2 even WR1 for fantasy football, it is just a matter of can he bounce back from the injury he suffered in 2018 that caused him to miss all of 2019. Draft A.J. Green but just know that there is some very high-risk when is comes to having him on your team. But a they say, with great-risk comes great-rewards.

I believe that A.J. Green will finish between the WR30-40 range this year, Green is currently ranked as the WR27 going into 2020, with his ADP sitting around the 63rd overall pick. via. Sleeper

WR: Tyler Boyd (5th Season – 25 Years Old)

Tyler Boyd - If you are to draft any Bengals WR's it should be this guy right here! Tyler Boyd finished with a 1,000 yard season for the second year straight, and the entire 2019 season he was the WR1 for the Bengals! With A.J. Green back Boyd will be back down to the WR2 on the Bengals depth chart, which I think leaves the door wide open for Boyd to have yet another great season. Even better news, if A.J. Green goes down again this season we know that Tyler Boyd can still produce as the WR1 on the team. Tyler Boyd is not being drafted until the end of the 7th round/beginning of the 8th round and I think that is an absolute steal for your team, in PPR Boyd finished as the WR18 and the WR25 in standard scoring that is better than some WR1's on teams! Sure he has a new QB in Joe Burrow but the Bengals said they are going to work Joe Burrow a lot from the jump so I expect Burrow to throw the ball A LOT this season. Tyler Boyd will have another 100+ targets, 1,000+ yards, and 5+ touchdown season for the Bengals I am trusting Boyd as my WR3 on my team, he even has the ceiling to be the WR2 for your team it all depends how Burrow uses Boyd. Draft Tyler Boyd with confidence this season, I think that he is going to shock a lot of people.

I believe that Tyler Boyd will finish between the WR20-30 range this year, Boyd is currently ranked as the WR35 going into 2020, with his ADP sitting around the 85th overall pick. via. Sleeper

WR: Tee Higgins (Rookie Season - Round 2, 33rd overall pick – 21 Years Old)

Tee Higgins - Higgins has already began training camp with an apparent hamstring injury. Now it does not seem like it is a severe injury it is more than likely the Bengals are looking out for their future star in the slot. Tee Higgins ran a 4.54 40 time, which may not be the fastest but it is fast enough to beat most of the linebackers in the NFL now. With Higgins standing at 6'4 216 lbs. (bigger than Tyler Boyd and the same size as A.J. Green) it would be almost impossible for him to not get work in this Bengals offense. Higgins is a series threat going over the top of defenses and virtually everywhere else on the field, you cannot let this guy get space in the open field because it may end bad for opponents defenses. Higgins is a very versatile receiver but just like A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd we have no idea who Joe Burrow is going to look towards often in this often. Having no preseason makes it very hard to draft rookies this season, and to draft players with a rookie QB, but if you are in a dynasty league or keeper league I think Tee Higgins is a very safe option to have on your team. With how late Higgins is going in drafts I think it may be worth stashing him on your bench just in case A.J. Green goes down.

I believe that Tee Higgins will finish between the WR60-70 range this year, Higgins is currently ranked as the WR84 going into 2020, with his ADP sitting around the 198th overall pick. via. Sleeper

TE: C.J. Uzomah (6th Season - 27 Years Old)

C.J. Uzomah - Uzomah is not a guy I recommend drafting, Burrow targeted Thaddeus Moss somewhat in the offense, he was not used very often and I do not expect Uzomah to be used much either. He may be 6'6 260 lbs. but I do not think that he has the talent to be a TE1 nor TE2 for fantasy. There is no reason to draft Uzomah, there are going to be backup TE's that finish higher than him this season so I wold consider taking those guys before Uzomah. Uzomah is also going undrafted in nearly every single league possible, he is not being drafting until nearly the 30th round of drafts. I have nothing else to say other than do NOT waste a draft pick on C.J. Uzomah.

I believe that C.J. Uzomah will finish as a TE30-40 range this year, Uzomah is currently ranked as the TE37 going into 2020, with his ADP sitting around the 350th overall pick. via. Sleeper
